What’s new
Content Manager
Update published photo imagery
Photos are entity types containing images and relevant metadata and are often related to multiple other entities, e.g., stories or editorial selections.
This release recognizes the need to easily update images within photo entitles without impacting the editorial workflow of photos and their related entities. Now, when replacing imagery, changes are visible in the front-end in real-time — there's no need to republish the photo entity.
For more information, read our article on editing photos.
Optimized content promotion in editorial selections
We've improved the content selection process when promoting content within editorial selections with shortcuts and automation. These include:
- When manually selecting photos and documents, editors can now upload new photos and documents directly from the editorial selection edit page.
- Editorial selections can contain items that have not been published or are not visible on the front-end, and may also be configured to automatically include items based on unpublished tags and context.
To improve the user experience and increase efficiency, editors can now easily publish and make these items visible with a single click when publishing editorial selections.
For more information, read our article on editorial selections (including localization).
Tag enhancements
Across FORGE Content Manager, tags provide many new facilities:
- The tag name always displays with the slug in brackets, which makes reading and recognizing tags easier.
- Once editors select a tag,
- Its label links to the tag detail page for quick tag checks and updates.
- A warning icon highlights if tags are unpublished. This informs editors that attention is required, as the front-end does not render entities with unpublished tags.
- When tags come in folders, editors can:
- Navigate through folders directly where they select tags, which speeds up finding tags.
- Set favorite folders to start with to navigate through child folders, speeding up the most-used tag selection.
