The story list view allows operating on a set of stories.
When selecting one or more stories, a toolbar displays at the bottom and provides the bulk operation buttons:
Top tips:
1. A search result page contains up to 72 stories; consequently, each bulk operation applies to up to 72 stories within a single page.
2. When the bulk update sets an already existing value, the story status doesn't change. E.g., if the bulk update assigns the news tag, and one of the selected stories already has the news tag, this story doesn't have any update.
Bulk operations
Before proceeding with any bulk operation, editors must confirm the action:
Bulk-tagging
Add/remove story tags regardless of the story status.
By selecting, a popup window displays that allows adding and removing tags to all the selected stories:
When adding a tag that doesn't exist, editors can create it from the Manage tags window.
When applying changes, editors can select the Apply ... and publish button to also publish changed stories, just by selecting one button.
Bulk edit properties
Edit story properties regardless of the story status.
By selecting, a popup window displays that allows editing properties for all the selected stories. Edit the built-in fields, including:
- List availability
- Authorization groups
- Custom fields (administrator-configured)
Note: An extended field (a string, a list of options, or a boolean) can be bulk-edited if an administrator user enables it as a bulk field by adding "bulk": true in its JsonSchema definition (Administration → Configuration → Extended Fields).
When applying changes, editors can select the Apply... and publish button to also publish changed stories, just by selecting one button.
Bulk publish/unpublish
Available actions depend on the story's status. For example, to push multiple Reviewed stories to Published, select stories and select Publish.
By selecting Publish, all the selected and not-yet-published stories are published. The already published one remains unchanged.
Vice versa, by selecting button Unpublish, all the selected and published stories are unpublished:
Bulk archive/restore
Available actions depend on the story's status. For example, archive multiple stories regardless of the status, or restore multiple stories with a status of Archived.
By selecting Archive, all the selected and not yet archived stories are archived:
Vice versa, by selecting the Restore button, all the selected and archived stories are restored:
