Overview
FORGE 2023 Q1 released a fully-headless CMS with the new presentation manager app - the Page Builder.
Rooted in that foundation, FORGE 2023 Q2 delivers:
- In Content Manager
- The new story list view
- The new photo grid view
- In Page Builder
- The preview to check pages before publishing
- URLs alias of pages to increase their traffic
- Variables to reuse configurations through folders and pages
On the technical side, front-end developers get new Front-end API endpoints to retrieve the URL of the page preview and URLs to build the navigation of list details through the front-end.
Finally, FORGE, as a platform, adopts the latest stable version of RabbitMQ to power its messaging system.

Content Manager and Page Builder
Content preview
The Content Manager allows previewing content and the Page Builder allows previewing pages that are built with an external rendering engine.
The same preview feature is available through the Front-end API.

Share stories
Editors can now get the URL of the page that publishes a story and share it through socials.
Delete a single translation of a story
Editors can now manage story translations one by one. So, they can now delete a single translation and preserve the others.
Page Builder
Variables to reuse the configuration
Producers can define variables of pages and folders to reuse their configuration across their children folders and pages.
Aliases to increase the traffic
Producers can define an alias for the page URLs to increase the traffic generated by the organic search results.
Front-end API
Getting the navigation URLs of a list entity details
Endpoint that allows getting the page’s link rules as they are defined in the Visual Site Manager. Front-end developers benefit from the new endpoint to manage the navigation from items in a list to their detail page.
Getting menu defined in VSM
Endpoint that allows getting the navigation menu as they are defined in the Visual Site Manager. Front-end developers benefit from the new endpoint to manage the navigation across the front-end.

Content search performance boost
Adopted strategies for FORGE to handle the load of 30 simultaneous users and a million entities without overloading the infrastructure and blocking operations (tested in a production-like environment).
Minor changes
- Slugs can now be up to 500 characters.
- Dedicated configuration available for enabling/disabling the «Quote» button in the text editor toolbar.
- Word count available in the text editor.
- Distribution API returns whether an entity is listed/unlisted.
- Adopted the latest stable version of RabbitMQ as messaging system.
