In this article, we cover connecting to an external source for feeding your content taxonomy.
Topics covered here:
Usage scenario
Tags are the content taxonomy. You – the producer — and your editorial team can update the taxonomy in FORGE Back Office by adding tags where required. Yet, there are scenarios where the taxonomy — or part of it — must be defined in other systems and imported into FORGE: the external tag feature meets this need.
Configuration
In FORGE → Administration → Configurations → External Tags, you can edit the existing connections to external tag sources and create new ones.
The definition of an extended tag source is made up of two mandatory fields:
- Name: Namespace of the tags that FORGE imports from the external source.
- URL: Endpoint of the external source.
Usage
When editing an editorial entity, in the Tags tab, editors can type in the namespace of the imported tags and select what they need to categorize the entity.
For example, tag a story with the matches it mentions: type SDXP Matches → Final2024.
